Description :

  • Day 1 : we meet in the morning at Vufflens-la-Ville, from where we take a train and a bus together to reach the starting point of our trek in Ballaigues. The trail gradually climbs through the forest and meadows as we leave the hustle and bustle of daily life behind. We take a break at midday with a view of the Alps. In the afternoon, we reach a magnificent viewpoint trail along the Aiguilles de Baulmes before descending gently towards the town of Sainte-Croix for the night. We stay at a hotel in shared rooms (with single beds) and have dinner at the restaurant. There is an opportunity for resupplying.

  • Day 2 : after refueling with breakfast, we begin this day with the ascent of the highest point of our trek : the Chasseron. Our efforts are rewarded with a magnificent panorama from the highest summit of the Jura in canton of Vaud. We then continue our journey through alpine meadows and forests, gentle and hilly terrain that leads us to our half-board guesthouse for the second night.

  • Day 3 : we set off for this 3rd and final day. The path is easy, with a very gentle slope through the alpine meadows... but there's a surprise at the end of this route; the steep and magnificent cirque of Creux-du-Van reveals itself to us ! These cliffs, 160m high, can be admired from a belvedere path. The location is also often a good spot for observing herds of ibex, will we be lucky enough to see them today ? After these special moments, we descend towards the Lake of Neuchâtel and Saint-Aubin-Sauges, where the train takes us back in a few stops to our meeting point.
